Home Community Community Groups Directory
There are many different groups from the community that use the St Albans uniting Complex.
Every Wednesday morning at 10:00am in the church lounge there is a bible study based on the lectionary. It is a good way of learning more about the bible in a planned way, because the studies are on the readings for the Sunday services that follow.
Everyone is welcome. We begin with tea, coffee and biscuits and some lively conversation!
This project has been operating in the community for the last 12 years. It started with a group of volunteers who turned the backyard of the church house into a fantastic garden. The parish would love to extend the pool of volunteers who work in the garden and those who are wanting to use the vegetables.
The Men’s Shed is a brand new purpose built and well equipped workshop within the St Albans Uniting complex and membership is open to any men in the community however wide people wish the definition of community to be.
It can provide a place to work and fellowship for men who have been involved in wood and metalwork activities, both as hobbies and employment in the past but, because of downsizing of accommodation or a growing need to work with others for safety and mobility issues, can no longer have access to a place to continue their interests. But it is also open to any men looking for fellowship and a space to work at their hobbies.
So far there are two sessions per week, Mondays and Tuesdays 1pm-4pm. There is room for other sessions but we need each group to include a qualified tradesperson to be part of any group for safety reasons.
